Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$46.02 per hundredweight March 22, up from $39.74 March 15.
U.S. hogs averaged $66.44 on a carcass basis March 22, up from $54.20 March 15.
The U.S. pork cutout was $77.79 per cwt. March 22, up from $68.89 March 15.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to March 23 was 2.508 million, up from 2.447 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.410 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the March 23 Signature Five price was C$145.13 per 100 kilograms, up from $128.64 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis, the price was $65.83, up from $58.35.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.30-$5.60 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.00-$5.40. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,258 sheep and lambs and 200 goats sold March 18. New crops sold higher, while all other lambs sold steady. Sheep sold barely steady.
