Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$39.36 per hundredweight Jan. 25, up from $38.51 Jan. 18.
U.S. hogs averaged $51.32 on a carcass basis Jan. 25, down from $51.81 Jan. 18.
The U.S. pork cutout was $67.67 per cwt. Jan. 25, down from $69.97 Jan. 18.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Jan. 26 was 2.501 million, down from 2.503 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.363 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Jan. 26 Signature Five price was C$135.77 per 100 kilograms, up from $133.67 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis, the price was $61.58, up from $60.63.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.50-$5.70. per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.30-$5.50. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 695 sheep and lambs and 21 goats sold Jan. 21. A weather-related light run of sheep, lambs and goats sold actively at slightly stronger prices.
