Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$38.51 per hundredweight Jan. 11, up from $35.82 Jan. 4.
U.S. hogs averaged $50.88 on a carcass basis Jan. 11, up from $48.22 Jan. 4.
The U.S. pork cutout was $70.96 per cwt. Jan. 11, up from $69.70 Jan. 4.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Jan. 11 was 2.565 million, up from 2.262 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.440 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Jan. 11 Signature Five price was C$130.40 per 100 kilograms, up from $126.38 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis the price was $59.15, up from $57.33.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.60-$5.80 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.40 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.40-$5.60. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.20.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 753 sheep and lambs and 49 goats sold Jan. 7. New crop lambs sold steady to $5 cwt. higher. Heavy type lambs were barely steady to $10 cwt. lower. Good sheep and goats sold at higher prices.
