Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$48.70 per cwt. Sept. 28 up from $43.92 Sept. 21.
U.S. hogs averaged $63.00 on a carcass basis Sept. 28, up from $59.37 Sept. 21.
The U.S. pork cutout was $83.33 per cwt. Sept. 28, up from $79.18 Sept. 21.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Sept. 29 was 2.568 million, up from 2.341 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.528 million last year at the same time.
In Canada Sept. 29 Signature Five price was C$148.55 per 100 kilograms, up from $131.93 the week before.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.80-$6. per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.60 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.60-$5.80 U.S. buyers are offering US$4.40.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 1130 sheep and lambs and 165 goats sold Sept. 24. All lambs sold on a dull demand at prices $7-10 cwt lower. Sheep too, sold on a dull demand with prices $5-10 cwt lower. Good goats traded barely steady with thinner types under pressure at lower money.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported 1280 sheep and 127 goats sold Sept. 24.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $185-$225 per cwt., 55 to 69 lb. were $200-$223, 70 to 85 lb. were $190-$212, 86 to 105 lb. were $190-$208 and 106 lb. and heavier were $190-$207.
Wool rams were $75-$126 per cwt. Cull ewes were $85-$135.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $155-$185 per cwt., 55 to 69 lb. were $173-$195, 70 to 85 lb. were $171-$200, 86 to 105 lb. were $180-$196 and 106 lb. and heavier were $175-$192.
Hair rams were $80-$145 per cwt. Cull ewes were $75-$136.
