Hogs weak
U.S. hog prices were steady to lower because supplies were ample to packers’ needs.
The average live slaughter weight of barrows and gilts in Iowa-Minnesota two weeks ago was 280.9 pounds, down 1.2 pounds for the 12th consecutive week with weights lighter than last year.
Iowa-southern Minnesota hogs delivered were US$58-$59 per hundredweight June 19, unchanged from June 12.
U.S. hogs averaged $75.32 on a carcass basis June 19, down from $77.09 June 12.
The U.S. pork cutout fell to $82.65 per cwt. June 19, down from $84.86 June 12.

Bison steady
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices up to C$5 per pound hot hanging weight with a few at higher prices. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.25.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.85. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.10.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Sheep steady
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,725 sheep and lambs and 100 goats traded June 15.
Lightweight lambs, sheep and goats sold steady.
Heavy lambs sold barely steady to $5-$7 cwt. lower.
