Cold weather in the U.S. Midwest did little to slow hog deliveries.
Christmas ham buying wound down and traders expected pork prices would fall after the holidays. Hog futures fell because of the large premium over the cash market.
Iowa-southern Minnesota cash hogs delivered to plants were little changed at $50-$51 US per hundredweight Dec. 17 steady with the previous week.
The U.S. pork carcass cut-out value was $78.47 Dec. 17, little changed from $78.50 Dec. 10.
U.S. federal slaughter estimate for the week was 2.34 million head, up from 2.24 million the previous week.

The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were $3-$3.55 per pound hot hanging weight.
Grade A heifers in the desirable weight range were $3.25-$3.40.
Older than 30 month animals and those outside the desirable weight range may be discounted. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2.20.
WOOL LAMBS HIGHER
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield Alta., reported 853 sheep and 297 goats sold Dec. 13.
Wool lambs lighter than 70 lb. were $190-$206 per cwt., 70 to 85 lb. were $186-$203, 86 to 105 lb. were $164-$177 and 106 lb. and heavier were $150-$157.
Wool rams were $82-$100 per cwt. Cull ewes were $80-$90 and bred ewes were $100-$122.
Hair lambs lighter than 70 lb. were $180-$190 per cwt., 70 to 85 lb. were $170-$182, 86 to 105 lb. were $157-$168 and 106 lb. and heavier were $148-$158.
Hair rams were $82-$98 per cwt. Cull ewes were $85-$97.
Good kid goats lighter than 50 lb. were $140-$157.50. Those heavier than 50 lb. were $140-$172.50 per cwt. Nannies were $74-$90 per cwt. Billies were $100-$137.50.
Ontario Stockyards reported 2,004 sheep and lambs and 410 goats traded Dec. 10. Well finished lamb prices climbed. Sheep rose $5-$7 per cwt. Goats rose $5-$10 per head.
