Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported 821 sheep and lambs and 110 goats traded Nov. 30. The market was strong with Christmas business and there was demand for all classes.
Lambs lighter than 70 pounds were $130-$162 per hundredweight.
Lambs 75 to 85 lb. were $135-$159, 86 to 105 lb. were $120-$147, and those heavier than 105 lb. were $119-$133. Rams were $55-$71 per cwt. Ewe culls were $30-$70. Breeding ewes were $80-$100.
Good kid goats heavier than 50 lb. were $150-$200 per cwt. Nannies were $55-$85 per cwt. Mature billies were $115-$147. Ontario Stockyards reported 1,259 sheep and lambs and 130 goats traded Nov. 30. Lambs were mostly steady. Sheep sold actively at barely steady prices. Goats were firm.
