Initials rise

Initial payments for wheat and barley have increased.

The Canadian Wheat Board said July 23 that all grades and classes of wheat will rise by $6 per tonne and all durum except No. 5 will rise by $11 per tonne.

The total payment to date for No. 1 red spring wheat 12.5 percent protein is now $200.25 per tonne, and for No. 1 durum 12.5 percent protein it is $205.

Adjustment payments will be made by direct deposit Aug. 8 or mailed Aug. 10.
