Fertilizer prices climb in U.S.

Prices of most types of fertilizer continued to climb in the United States in early March.

The following prices, based on a regular United States Department of Agriculture survey in Illinois, compare March 18 to March 4 and are in U.S. dollars per ton.

The anhydrous ammonia range was $498 to $545 to average $527.26, down 56 cents from March 4.

The range for urea 46-0-0 was $395 to $470. The average was $433.73, up $10.91.

Diammonium phosphate DAP 18-46-0 ranged from $455 to $550. The average was $493.91, up $7.53.

The potash range was $453 to $550 to average $489.83, up $5.28.
