(Reuters) — Dow Chemical Co. plans to exit its paint business and is considering selling construction and chlorine assets as it sheds its exposure to low value commodity chemicals. It will increasingly focus on its agriculture business and shy away from areas where the competition is state-owned manufacturers.

Dow reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit last week.
