Canada Gold Beef has bought Sun- Gold Specialty Meats Ltd. in Innisfail, Alta., Canada’s largest federally inspected sheep slaughter and processing plant.
The plant, until this winter known as Sunterra Meats, also processes cattle and bison.
Canada Gold Beef chair Rick Paskal, said more information about the company’s plans will be released this week.
In a news release, the company said it would work with existing employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to develop a niche market for qualityspecialty meats.
