Winnipeg, September 8 (CNS) – According to the latest crop report from the Saskatchewan government, 31 percent of the chickpea crop has been combined.
The USDA has put out a tender for 820 tonnes of pulses to be used in its food aid program.
Pulse prices in India have softened a bit over the past week due to lukewarm demand from retailers, according to a report from The Times of India.
According to Australia’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture, chickpea exports to India increased by nearly 90 percent in 2016/17. That surge contributed to the country’s AU$3 billion worth of pulse exports shipped out world-wide.
Laird #1 lentils rose two cents, according to the latest information from the Prairie Ag Hotwire. Bids are listed at 41 to 48 cents per pound.
Navy beans in Manitoba declined two cents and are now going for 32 cents a pound.
Kabuli chickpeas (10mm) declined two cents and are now priced at 64 to 66 cents a pound.
Bids for yellow peas on the Prairies were up 35 cents at C$7.14 to C$8.50 per bushel.
