ICE canola mostly stronger

By Jade Markus, Commodity News Service Canada

WINNIPEG, April 27 – ICE Canada canola contracts were mostly higher on Thursday.

The market was gathering support from the Chicago Board of Trade soy complex.

CBOT soybeans, soy meal and soy oil advanced with strong weekly export sales from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Wet and cool weather in Western Canada underpinned values, as did concerns about tight supplies.

The front May contract declined slightly in liquidation ahead of its expiry at the end of the week.

About 1,949 canola contracts had traded as of 9:00 CDT.

Milling wheat, durum, and barley futures were all untraded and unchanged.
