WINNIPEG – The ICE Futures canola market was slightly lower on Wednesday morning while vegetable oils had a mixed tone.
Much of Alberta and Saskatchewan will have one last gasp of summer today with sunny skies and high temperatures of 19 degrees Celsius and warmer. Meanwhile in southern Manitoba, temperatures won’t hit the double-digits. A cold front was forecast to pass through the Prairies on Thursday.
Crude oil was slightly higher to start the day as tightening supply and a possible economic slowdown were both factors.
Chicago soyoil traded lower, as well as Malaysian palm oil. However, European rapeseed traded higher.
The Canadian dollar was left unchanged from Tuesday’s close.
About 5,200 canola contracts were traded as of 8:43 CDT.
