ICE Canola Lower Following Soybeans

By Dave Sims, Commodity News Service Canada

WINNIPEG, September 19 – Canola contracts on the ICE Futures Canada platform were lower Friday morning, on follow-through selling after Thursday’s drop to new-lows and in sympathy with soybeans.

Weather forecasts calling for warmer conditions across the Prairies over the next few days were bearish as the weather should allow for good harvest progress.

Scaled down end user demand also provided some underlying support.

Soyoil was slightly higher which provided some support, traders said.

About 3,400 canola contracts had traded as of 8:45 CDT.

Milling wheat, durum, and barley futures were all untraded and unchanged.
