– Canada, United States and Mexico begin talks in Washington today to update the North American Free Trade Agreement.

– Japanese and American military planes carried out air exercises near North Korea over the East China Sea in a show of force and solidarity. The U.S. and North Korea have been involved in a heated verbal exchange over North Korea’s development of nuclear missiles.

– U.S. President Donald Trump faces condemnation from within his own Republican party following his remarks equating neo-Nazi protesters to the counter protesters following the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

– The Ontario government has signed an agreement for self-governing education with the Anishinabek Nation, which turns over control of classroom and school resources. Details were expected to be announced later today.
