Global markets: Eurozone economy sees uptick in Q1

WINNIPEG, May 3 – The following is a glance at the news moving markets globally.

– The eurozone’s economy advanced 0.5 per cent in the first quarter, according to reports out of the region on Wednesday.

That growth was in line with expectations, analysts say, though some called it slightly disappointing.

– Private employers in the US added 177,000 jobs last month, reports out of the country say.

April’s growth is in line with analyst-expectations.
