CHINESE GROWTH EXPECTED TO SLOW SLIGHTLY IN FOURTH QUARTER
The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) expects the country’s growth to reach an annual 6.6 per cent in the fourth quarter, according to reports on Wednesday.
While that pace is slightly slower than previous quarters, it is still within a normal range, analysts say.
OPERATING REVENUE FOR CANADIAN AIRCRAFT MOVES LOWER
Total operating revenue for the 25 largest Canadian air carriers was C$4.9 billion in the fourth quarter, down 0.3 per cent from the same quarter in 2014. Total operating expenses declined 2.4 per cent to C$4.6 billion, largely because of lower fuel costs, Statistics Canada said in a report on Wednesday.

CANADIAN RAIL FREIGHT MOVEMENT DOWN FROM YEAR-AGO PACE
The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 27.9 million tonnes in July, down 7.9 per cent from the same month last year, Statistics Canada said in a report on Wednesday.
According to StatsCan, from July 2011 to July 2016, the total volume of rail freight carried in Canada increased by 7.7 per cent.
