– United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke to each other for 10 minutes at the G20 conference in New Delhi on Wednesday. – Toronto-Dominion (TD) Bank Group reported a first-quarter profit of C$1.58 billion, down from C$3.73 billion the year before. TD Bank Group agreed last month to pay US$1.2 billion to investors due to claims that the bank aided a US$7 billion Ponzi scheme more than a decade ago. Provisions for credit losses increased sharply to C$690 million, up from C$72 million one year earlier. However, revenue increased by C$950 million to C$12.23 billion.
– SpaceX launched a four-man crew en route to the International Space Station from Cape Canaveral, Fla. on Thursday morning, which included two astronauts from NASA as well as another from the United Arab Emirates and a Russian cosmonaut. A previous launch attempt was scrapped on Monday due to a blockage in the flow of engine-ignition fluid. The space craft is expected to dock on Friday where they will spend six months conducting more than 200 experiments and demonstrations.
