– Argentina’s agricultural ministry is predicting a wheat crop between 10-12 million tonnes, which would be lower than last year’s 13.9 million tonne crop. There are reports of sprouting and rust in some areas though.
– According to the European commission, soft wheat exporters recorded their busiest week (ended Nov 18) of the 2015/16 marketing year. A total of 635,000 tonnes were licensed for export which is over 230,000 tonnes more than the previous week.
– Flour production is on the decline in Ukraine. Between January to October of this year, Ukrainian flour millers churned out 1.65 million tonnes of flour. That is 11% less than the same time last year, according to the country’s Statistics Service Bureau.
– According to The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Texas and the Texas Panhandle have a 50 to 60 percent higher chance of experiencing a wetter-than-normal winter. Industry-watchers expect this could aid wheat yields.
– CBOT corn futures ended at US$3.6325 per pound (December contract)on Friday. Values felt pressure from large global supplies of oilseeds.
