WINNIPEG, April 11 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Monday, April 11.
– CBOT corn futures were weaker on Monday, losing 5.5 cents in the May contract to close at US$3.5675 per bushel. Sharp losses in wheat accounted for some spillover selling pressure, while advances in soybeans were somewhat supportive.
– Kazakhstan has exported 6.5 million tonnes of grain during the 2015/16 marketing year to date, according to the country’s ministry of agriculture. The exports were up 33% from the same point the previous year.

– Corn seeding is in its early stages in Ukraine, with 1% of an expected 4.5 million hectares in the ground as of April 1, according to the Ukrainian agriculture ministry.
– Crop conditions for winter grains in Ukraine are generally favourable, according to reports.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$208 to C$215 per tonne area as of April 8, which was steady on the week, according to provincial reports. Feed wheat prices were in the C$2320 to C$237 range, which was down by about three dollars on the top end.
