WINNIPEG, June 20 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Monday, June 20.
– The Philippines are expected to increase wheat and corn imports from the previous year’s level primarily due to strong feed demand by the domestic livestock and poultry industries, according to the Philippine Grain and Feed update.
– Animal feed manufacturers in Asia could face a shortage of supply of corn and soybean meal in the coming weeks, reports say. Heavy rains in Argentina in the recent weeks have delayed deliveries, and stocks of corn and soybean meal in the Asian countries are being depleted.

– Crop growing conditions in Alberta are 80 per cent good to excellent, up eight per cent from the 5-year average (2011-2015). About 83 per cent of spring wheat, 81 per cent of barley, and 88 per cent of oats are in good to excellent condition.
– US feeder cattle futures fell to the lowest levels in more than three years on Friday as rising corn prices made fattening cattle for slaughter unprofitable, reducing demand, according to reports.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were holding at around C$205 per tonne, according to provincial reports. Feed wheat prices were in the C$227 to C$228 range, which was down by as much as C$12 at the top end.
