Feed Grains: CME Group adds Black Sea wheat and corn futures

Winnipeg, Nov. 20 (CNS) – Following are a few highlights in
the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Monday, Nov. 20.

Feed wheat bids in the key cattle feeding area of
Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$216 to C$220 per tonne range
as of Nov. 17, which was slightly lower from the previous week,
according to the latest pricing information from the provincial
government. Feed barley prices rose slightly, coming in at C$212
to C$220 per tonne in Lethbridge.

CME Group (Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board
of Trade) has announced the launch of Black Sea wheat and corn
futures contracts based on Platts’ price index to begin trading
next month. The spot trading starts Dec. 18. The wheat contract
is based on Russian 12.5 per cent protein wheat.

Feed barley prices in Saskatchewan and Manitoba held steady
overnight, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. Prices in
Saskatchewan and Manitoba were at C$3.55 per bushel. Feed wheat
prices as well held steady in Saskatchewan at C$4.90 per bushel.
