WINNIPEG, Oct. 31 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Monday, October 31.
– CBOT corn futures settled mostly lower on Monday. The December contract was down a quarter cent at US$3.5425 per bushel.
– Weekly US corn export inspections of 791,000 tonnes, were up from the previous week. The USDA also reported a separate 100,000 tonne sale of US corn to Barbados.
– Canadian farmers delivered 57,200 tonnes of barley into the commercial pipeline during the week ended October 23, according to the latest Canadian Grain Commission data. Total deliveries to date, of 524,700 tonnes, are running ahead of the 462,600 delivered during the same period the previous year.

– Domestic disappearance of Canadian barley to date, at 314,600 tonnes, is also slightly ahead of the level posted at the same point a year ago.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$169 to C$175 per tonne range as of October 28, which was relatively steady compared to the previous week, according to the latest pricing information from the provincial government. Top end feed wheat prices also held steady, to range from C$188 to C$190 per tonne in Lethbridge.
