WINNIPEG, December 9 – The Canadian dollar posted minor gains relative to its US counterpart on Wednesday, as investors reduced positions in the US currency.
The Canadian dollar closed at US$0.7372 or US$1 = C$1.3564.
The TSX finished higher Wednesday after two straight days of large losses. Materials and energy stocks led the way forward.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index rose 15.12 points, or 0.12%, to 12,937.47.
Canada’s agricultural sector faired as follows:
