Glacier FarmMedia MarketsFarm – The Canadian dollar held relatively steady on Thursday, taking a pause after hitting its strongest level in five weeks relative to its United States counterpart on Wednesday.
The Canadian dollar settled at US$0.7342 or US$1=C$1.3620 on Wednesday, which compares with Wednesday’s close of US$0.7345 or US$1=C$1.3615.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was stronger, up 0.83 per cent at US$79.28 per barrel.
The TSX Composite Index was up by 15.07 points to close at 22,299.83 points.
