The loonie was at US$0.7294 or US$1=C$1.3710 as of 8:35 a.m. CDT, compared to US$0.7287 or US$1=C$1.3723 on Tuesday.
The U.S. Dollar Index was down 0.03 of a point at 105.22. U.S. markets are closed until this evening due to the Juneteenth holiday.
Crude oil prices were narrowly mixed as risk-on sentiment was offset by increases in U.S. stockpiles. Brent crude oil was up US$0.01 at US$85.34 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) declined US$0.09 at US$81.48/barrel.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index gained 26.10 points at 21,637.40.
Gold lost US$2.60 per ounce at US$2,344.30.
