WINNIPEG, June 25 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was lower on Thursday morning along with crude oil prices.
As of 8:37 CDT, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7335 or C$1.363`, compared to Wednesday’s close of US$0.7358 or C$1.3591.
Benchmark crude oil prices were slightly lower Thursday morning as concerns continue over the rising number of COVID-19 reported cases around the world. Additional pressure came from increased crude inventories in the United States.
Brent crude oil slipped seven cents at US$40.24 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was down 19 cents at US$37.82 per barrel. Western Canadian Select (WCS) lost 10 cents at US$28.87 per barrel.
At the opening, the TSX/S&P Composite Index was down 69.17 points at 15,472.61.
Gold was up US$2.60 at US$1,763.77 per ounce.
