WINNIPEG, January 4 – The Canadian dollar advanced to a three-week-high against its US counterpart in early activity on Wednesday, underpinned by bullish data.
Reports showing stronger economic activity in the eurozone and Asia were supportive for the loonie.
At 9:10 CST Wednesday, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7500 or US$=C$1.3333, which compares with Tuesday’s North American close of US$0.7444 or US$1=C$1.3433.
There was no significant domestic data released by Statistics Canada on Wednesday.
The TSX was up 71.54 points at 9:10 CST Wednesday morning to sit at 15,474.57.
