Winnipeg, December 28 – The Canadian dollar was relatively unchanged compared to its US counterpart Wednesday morning. Losses in metals and natural gas were offset by slightly higher crude oil prices.
At 8:52 CST Wednesday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7371 or C$1.3566 which compares with Friday’s North American close of US$0.7388 or C$1.3535.
At 8:52 CST Wednesday morning, the TSX was up 56.01 points, or 0.37%, at 15,384.16.
Investor optimism was surging south of the border as the Dow Jones Industrial Average made a fresh push to the 20,000 mark. US stocks were bolstered by gains in technology and financials.
