Winnipeg, November 18 – The Canadian dollar was slightly higher compared to its US counterpart on Friday, taking strength from gains
in crude oil.
At 8:58 CST, the loonie was up 0.0008 of a cent to US$0.7399 or US$1=C$1.3515.
At 8:58 CST Friday morning, the TSX was up 3.66 points, or 0.02%, at 14,828.20.
Canada’s inflation rate rose in October to 1.5 per cent, up from September’s 1.3 percent.
Meantime, global bonds continued to bleed heavy losses. Some analysts peg the rout as the biggest in a quarter century.
