Winnipeg, November 17 – The Canadian dollar was slightly higher compared to its US counterpart Thursday morning, taking strength from
gains in crude oil, silver and copper prices.
At 8:50 CST, the loonie was up 0.0011 of a cent to US$0.7449 or US$1=C$1.3424.
At 8:50 CST Thursday morning, the TSX was up 6.06 points, or 0.04%, at 14,739.28.
Energy stocks lent strength to the market, led by Suncor Energy, which was up 1.58 percent in early trading.
Foreigners purchased a net C$11.77 billion in Canadian securities in September.
