WINNIPEG, Oct. 28 (CNS Canada) The Canadian dollar was weaker Friday morning, with losses in crude oil behind some of the weakness.
At 9:11 CDT Friday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7463 or C$1.3399 which compares with Thursday’s North American close of US$0.7470 or C$1.3387.
Better-than-expected US economic data also accounted for some of the relative weakness in the Canadian currency, as the US dollar index saw some strength. The US GDP increased at a 2.9 per cent annual rate in the third quarter, which was the fastest rate in two years.
The TSX was down 7.39 points at 9:11 CDT to sit at 14,826.36.
