WINNIPEG, October 5 – The Canadian dollar was slightly weaker against its US counterpart on Wednesday.
However, advances in crude oil and stronger domestic data limited losses.
At 9:15 CDT Wednesday, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7564 or US$=C$1.3220, which compares with Tuesday’s North American close of US$0.7579 or US$1=C$1.3194.
Canada’s exports increased 0.6 per cent to C$43.4 billion in August. Exports volumes rose 0.4 per cent and prices edged up 0.2 per cent, Statistics Canada said in a report on Wednesday.
The TSX was up 107.6 points at 9:15 CDT Wednesday morning to sit at 14,628.65.
