WINNIPEG, April 27 (CNS Canada) The Canadian dollar was holding near unchanged Friday morning, lacking any clear direction as investors squared positions ahead of the weekend.
At 8:33 CDT Friday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7774 or C$1.2863, which compares with Thursday’s North American close of US$0.7775 or C$1.2862.
Global financial markets were seeing some strength Friday morning amid optimism that peace would be reached between North and South Korea, as leaders of the two countries met for the first time in a decade and vowed to end the war that’s been officially ongoing since the 1950s.
Crude oil was slightly softer in early activity.
The TSX was stronger at 8:33 CDT, up 39.42 points at 15,677.01.
