WINNIPEG, June 5 (CNS Canada) The Canadian dollar was holding near unchanged Monday morning, despite losses in crude oil.
At 9:27 CDT Monday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7413 or C$1.3490 which compares with Friday’s North American close of US$0.7405 or C$1.3504.
Crude oil was weaker on Monday on concerns that a global production cut could be jeopardy as Saudi Arabia and other countries cut ties with Qatar.
In domestic data, housing data out of Toronto showed a sharp drop in home sales in the country’s largest city following the implementation of a foreign buyers’ tax.
The TSX was weaker at 9:27 CDT, down 13.49 points at 15,429.26.
