The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $70.34 on May 2 and $70.21 April 25.
U.S. hogs averaged $91.51 on a carcass basis May 2, up from $91.39 April 25.

The May 3 Hams Marketing cash price was $216.23, while on April 26 it was $210.75. HyLife was $232.68 this week and $227.09 April 26. OlyWest was $219.10, up from $213.40 last week.
OlyWest 2021 was down, at $228.60, from $223.10, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $232.68 this week. On April 26 it was $228.15.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices of $635-$695 per cwt., hot hanging weight, for finished bulls and $600-$650 per cwt. for finished heifers. Mature bulls were $500-$550, while mature cows were $500-$550 per cwt.
Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$485-$500 per cwt. for bulls and $450-$470 per cwt. for heifers.
Prices for mature bulls and cows were not available.
All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were C$5.95 per pound for bulls and $4.69 per lb. for heifers of good quality or better.
The mixed live animal price was not available.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 187 sheep and 285 lambs sold April 28.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 526 sheep and 216 goats sold April 28.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $420-$490 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $390-$490, 70-85 lb. were $370-$475, 86-105 lb. were $320-$420, and 106 lb. and heavier were $270-$335. Wool rams were $175-$250 per cwt. Cull ewes were $150-$330.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $300-$450, 55-69 lb. were $380-$435, 70-85 lb. were $340-$400, 86-105 lb. were $325-$380 and 106 lb. and heavier were $225-$275. Hair rams were $170-$330 per cwt. Cull ewes were $170-$330.
