HOGS FALL AGAIN
Rising hog weights and ample supply pressured hog prices down again. Pork prices also fell.
Ron Plain of the University of Missouri said prices have now dropped below the break-even point.
Iowa-southern Minnesota cash hogs delivered to plants fell to $44- $46 US per hundredweight Oct. 28, down from $47 Oct. 22.
The U.S. pork carcass cut-out value fell to $73.68 Oct. 29, down from $76.06 Oct. 22 .
U.S. federal slaughter estimate was 2.31 million, down from 2.35 million the week before.

BISON PRICES STAY STRONG
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were $3-$3.45 per pound hot hanging weight.
Grade A heifers in the desirable weight range were $3-$3.45.
Animals older than 30 months and those outside the desirable weight range may be discounted.
Slaughter cows and bulls were $2.10-$2.40.
SHEEP MARKET STEADY
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported 875 sheep and 185 goats sold Oct. 25.
Wool lambs lighter than 70 lb. were $158-$170 per cwt., 70-85 lb. were $152-$165, 86-105 lb. were $135- $149.50, and 106 lb. and heavier were $128-$142.
Wool rams were $65-$80 per cwt. Cull ewes were $58-$66 and bred ewes were $76-$100.
Hair lambs lighter than 70 lb. were $120-$140 per cwt., 70-85 lb. were $122-$140, 86-105 lb. were $125- $138, and 106 lb. and heavier were $120-$132.
Hair rams were $60-$80 per cwt. Cull ewes were $50-$66.
Good kid goats lighter than 50 lb. were $177.50-$207.50. Those heavier than 50 lb. were $170-$207.50 per cwt.
Nannies were $60-$79 per cwt. Billies were $90-$130. Bred does were $90-$107. Ontario Stockyards sold 1,280 sheep and lambs and 72 goats Oct. 25.
Light, well-finished lambs sold at a premium.
All others were steady. Good sheep rose. Good goats were steady to stronger.
