HOGS RISE
U.S. cash hog prices edged higher. The weaker U.S. dollar might stimulate pork exports.
Iowa-southern Minnesota cash hogs delivered to plants rose to $50.50 US per hundredweight Dec. 3 from $48.50 Nov. 26.
The U.S. pork carcass cut-out value fell to $77.12 Dec. 3 from $79.33 Nov. 26.
U.S. federal slaughter estimate for the week was 2.32 million, up from 2.06 million the previous week.
BISON PRICES STAY STRONG
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were $3 to $3.45 per pound hot hanging weight.

Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported 939 sheep and 259 goats sold Nov. 29.
Wool lambs lighter than 70 lb. were $177-$191 per cwt., 70-85 lb. were $164-$178, 86-105 lb. were $147- $165 and 106 lb. and heavier were $140-$146.
Wool rams were $79-$91 per cwt. Cull ewes were $78-$90 and bred ewes were $90-$120.
Hair lambs lighter than 70 lb. were $170-$190 per cwt., 70-85 lb. were $160-$176, 86-105 lb. were $131- $141 and 106 lb. and heavier were $125-$137.
Hair rams were $82-$97 per cwt. Cull ewes were $78-$90.
Good kid goats lighter than 50 lb. were $130-$157.50. Those heavier than 50 lb. were $142.50-$180 per cwt. Nannies were $70-$90 per cwt. Billies were $100-$135.
Ontario Stockyards reported 1,147 sheep and lambs and 131 goats traded Nov. 29. All classes of sheep and lambs saw much higher prices. Goats were steady to strong.
