Water program extended

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Published: November 28, 2002

Alberta’s farm water program has been extended.

Producers have until March 31, 2003, instead of Nov. 30, 2002, to

complete water projects. They have until May 31, 2003, to submit

applications for the program.

Water projects have been delayed as farmers wait for construction crews

to handle dugouts, wells and pipeline projects.

The provincial government is paying for one-third of development costs

to a maximum of $5,000 per producer. Application forms are available

through Alberta Agriculture’s rural services division by calling

780-422-9167, toll free by dialing 310-0000 first or through the

government website at www.agric.gov.ab.ca/farmwater.
