The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $83.47 Aug. 19. It was not available Aug. 12.
U.S. hogs averaged $109.66 on a carcass basis Aug. 19, down from $112.41 Aug. 12.

The U.S. pork cutout was $112.41 per hundredweight Aug. 19, down from $114.70 Aug. 12.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Aug. 19 was 0.958 million. It was 0.962 million the previous week.

In Canada, the Aug. 16 Signature Four price was $258.41 per 100 kilograms, down from $261.57.
The Aug. 16 Hams Marketing cash price was $259.98, while on Aug. 9 it was $259.97. HyLife was $278.24 this week and $277.89 Aug. 9. OlyWest was $272.30, down from $272.90 last week.
OlyWest 2021 was the same as last week, at $277.20, while HyLife’s adjusted price was $278.24 this week. On Aug. 9 it was $277.89.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices of $645-$700 per cwt., hot hanging weight, for finished bulls and $620-$665 per cwt. for finished heifers. Mature bulls and cows were $500-$550 per cwt.
Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$495-$510 for bulls and $455-$480 per cwt. for heifers.
Prices for mature bulls and cows were not available.
All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were C$5.02 per pound for bulls and $3.88 per lb. for heifers of good quality or better.
The mixed live animal price was $4.25.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 218 sheep and 550 lambs sold Aug. 11.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,798 sheep and 286 goats sold Aug. 11.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $300-$425 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $290-$360, 70-85 lb. were $275-$320, 86-105 lb. were $255-$317, and 106 lb. and heavier were $240-$285. Wool rams were $170-$250 per cwt. Cull ewes were $180-$275.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $260-$335, 55-69 lb. were $270-$350, 70-85 lb. were $260-$310, 86-105 lb. were $250-$310 and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-$275. Hair rams were $195-$250 per cwt. Cull ewes were $170-$245.
