Bayer Crop Science Canada has moved its corporate head office to
Calgary.
Forty of the 200 Canadian employees have moved to the office from
France, Germany, United States, Regina and Toronto.
The chemical plant remains in Regina and the canola development program
continues in Saskatoon and Lethbridge, Alta.
During its official opening on Sept. 6, Bayer announced a donation of
$50,000 over two years to the Calgary Science Centre. The money will be
used to develop and provide agricultural awareness programs to
schoolchildren.
The company recently merged with Aventis Crop Science and focuses on
researching and developing crop protection and biotechnology.
Bayer Crop Science has 22,000 employees and sales of $9.95 billion
worldwide.
