Dr. Robb Gowe, R. Peter Heffering, and Paul Roy King are the 2009 Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame inductees.
Gowe, an agricultural researcher, has been director of Agriculture Canada’s Animal Research Institute for 20 years. He has also led research teams on the advancement of livestock genetics.
Heffering, considered one of Canada’s top Holstein breeders, established Hanover Hills Holsteins in 1983. He participates in international trade missions and judging assignments.
King is an entrepreneur committed to research and development.
He joined his father’s seed business in 1961, and over the next three decades expanded it into the Canadian-based international agri-business known as King Grain.
The recipients were inducted during a ceremony held at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Nov. 8 in Toronto.
