The Canadian Wheat Board’s January Pool Return Outlook released Thursday shows hard red spring wheat values have dropped $2 to $5 per tonne since the December PRO.

Other wheat types are steady to down $5.

Durum values are steady to down $15 per tonne.

Malting and feed barley values are unchanged.

The PRO for No. 1 CWRS wheat 13.5 percent protein at port is $242 per tonne, or $6.59 per bushel, down from $245, or $6.67 per bu., in December.

No. 1 durum 13 percent protein is $202 per tonne, or $5.50 per bu., compared to $214 per tonne, or $5.82 per bu., in December.

The PRO for Pool A and B feed barley is $152 per tonne.

Select two-row designated barley is $211 per tonne and Select six-row is $193.

The wheat board said the lower PROs reflect falls in international grain prices since December, pressured lower mostly by the January U.S. Department of Agriculture report that raised estimates of U.S. and global grain stocks.
