The Western Producer again shone brightly at the Canadian Farm Writers’ Federation annual awards held this weekend in Moose Jaw.The Producer took home the most awards gathered by any single publication.Bill DeKay was a double first place winner. He took the top prize in the news photograph category with his image “Lunch served on the go.”He also won the feature photo award for the picture “Team spirit.”In the same feature photo category, Mary MacArthur took home the bronze prize for her photo “Species confusion – Chirpy.”Paul Yanko received gold for his work on the Western Producer website.D’Arce McMillan took the top spot in press editorial “Market acceptance bill could stifle development.”He also won silver in technical writing for a special report on canola genetic research.The WP was strong in the press editorial category. It also took the silver award with Terry Fries’ editorial “Conflicting data on GHG makes solutions difficult.”Sean Pratt took silver in the weekly press reporting category for his story “Delivering the right stuff: a new push for accountability.”
