A high stream flow advisory for the Bow River and tributaries upstream and downstream of Calgary was issued July 9 by Alberta Environment.

River levels above the city are rising due to the melting of mountain snow pack during above normal temperatures in southern Alberta. Higher temperatures are also in the forecast for the next several days.

Stream flow advisories for the South Saskatchewan River, including Medicine Hat, and for the Oldman River downstream of Lethbridge ended July 6.

A high stream flow advisory means water levels are rising but no major flooding is expected. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
