The summer will be warmer and wetter than normal for most of the Prairies if Environment Canada’s three-month outlook proves correct. The outlook for June, July and August, released June 1, sees Canada experiencing a warm summer, except for southwestern British Columbia. As for moisture, the forecast shows the grainbelt of Manitoba and Saskatchewan and northern Alberta experiencing above normal rainfall. Central and southern Alberta will have normal to below normal rain. The three-month forecasts are experimental and do not have a high degree of certainty. The agency is more confident about the temperature forecast than the moisture outlook. For more information, visit www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/saisons/index_e.html#forecasts
