Huskies from a farm near the village of Bulyea, Sask., have arrived at the Saskatoon SPCA after animal protection officers and RCMP officers seized them Wednesday morning.

The seizure came after a lengthy investigation by the SPCA into complaints from neighbours who said dozens of Huskies were being kept on the property without adequate food or water.

A few of the 29 animals taken from the farm are being kept at the Regina Humane Society. However, it did not have sufficient space to house all the dogs, so most were sent to the Saskatoon SPCA’s shelter, where they will remain for at least 72 hours.

The dogs will be put up for adoption If their owner hasn’t made arrangements by then to pay for the cost of their seizure.
