Day and Ross Transportation Group, a division of McCain Foods Ltd., has bought Saskatoon-based trucking company G. Edwards Enterprises Ltd.
Edwards Enterprises, started by Garry Edwards in 1977, delivers produce, meat and other fresh and frozen food.
John Doucet, president of Day and Ross, which is based in Hartland, N.B., said in a news release the company will integrate Edwards into its Fastrax division.
“We gain a modern terminal in Saskatoon, which opens up new lanes in Western Canada for our truckload network and we gain capacity to grow our LTL (less than truck load), small package and dedicated businesses,” Doucet said.
Jeff Edwards will join Day and Ross’ management group.
