Stampede rodeo winners finish on top

The Calgary Stampede is one of the richest rodeos in the world, and the lure of a $100,000 payday brings in top cowboys to compete.

The 2016 winners are as follows:

Bareback champion: Steven Peebles, Redmond, Oregon

Saddle bronc champion: Zake Thurston, Big Valley, Alta.

Bull riding champion: Cody Teel, Kountze, Texas

Tie down roping: Shane Hanchey, Sulphur, Louisiana

Steer wrestling champion: Seth Brockman, Wheatland, Wyoming

Ladies barrel racing champion: Mary Burger, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma

Chuck wagon champion: Kirk Sutherland, Grande Prairie, Alta.
